In a building cleaned on an annual cycle, overhead dust is loose settlement. Vacuum passes lift it and it is gone. Working carefully
The Surface Matters More Than the Dust
Compressed air is the fastest way to clean a ceiling and the fastest way to ruin an old one. Directed at brittle coatings, deteriorated insulation facing or dry-rotted timber, it does not just move dust — it takes material with it, spreads it through the building, and turns a cleaning job into somebody else’s remediation problem.

Our ceiling has never been cleaned. Is that a problem?

We plan a first clean for more time per square foot, heavier containment below, and the expectation that some surfaces will need a second pass.

That is the main reason we walk it first. Aged lead-era paint, brittle fibreboard, deteriorated insulation facing and dry-rotted timber all react badly to aggressive agitation or compressed air. Where we see that, we switch to low-contact HEPA capture, stay off the surface, and clean what is safe to clean. If something up there needs a coatings contractor or an abatement specialist rather than a cleaner, we tell you and stop.
What do you usually find in an Athens building?
